November 11, 2017 Weekend StealsWeekend Steals, 11/11 Pin19 Share Tweet Reddit StumbleShares 19 How’s your weekend going so far? Again, if I’m being honest, I wrote this post earlier this week since my due date was on November 9. The trouble with babies is that they really don’t give you much notice or warning before they decide to make their appearance, so all week I just continued to get things done while waiting patiently impatiently for him. Since I didn’t have that much to do, here’s what my week looked like… Earlier this week, Shaheen and Zain came over and we shot the nursery which I can’t wait to share with you guys. I sort of laughed because the space is so small that you can pretty much see the whole thing in two photos! I’ll be sharing that in a few weeks, so stay tuned! After that we went for a long, but chilly walk around my neighborhood and stopped for hot chocolate along the way. It was so relaxing and so nice to be with a friend to keep my mind off other things. I made a really yummy soup this week! I wish I had measured everything out so I could share a proper recipe, but I don’t cook like that very often. Typically I just wing it and toss stuff in as I see fit and it usually works out pretty well! For this one, I tossed in chopped celery, onion, carrot, a few cloves of garlic, 1 link of spicy Italian sausage, 1 can of white beans, 1 big can of diced tomatoes, dried rosemary, kale, broth and some small pasta shells to make it more of a meal. It was absolutely delicious! We also had a can of pumpkin in the pantry, so I made a batch of these pumpkin muffins and proceeded to eat three the same day—oops! Needless to say, they were VERY delicious! Rob and I finally caved and started Stranger Things 2. We were originally planning on saving it for the baby’s arrival so we could have a whole series to watch, but we’re weak. We’re only 3 episodes in and it’s good, but scarier than I remembered. I actually had nightmares one night, haha! In less fun news, my nesting obsession continued throughout the week! While I know this is a regular part of pregnancy, the real reason is that our house is covered in dog hair. Oliver, a shiba inu, sheds seasonally and of course it coincided with these last few weeks. I combed him for nearly a half hour and pulled out all of the loose fur that was stuck in his coat and gave him a bath (the worst—shibas hate water). I also vacuumed, watered and trimmed the dead leaves off my plants, folded some laundry, dusted and cleaned the kitchen. I was absolutely exhausted afterward, but it felt so nice to plop down on the couch with a cup of tea and fall candle burning (I got the sweet vanilla cinnamon scent!) and enjoy our clean house!
