How to Give Your Outfit More Personality
Last Thursday started with grey skies and rain….again. The week before, it had rained on and off the entire week. In fact, I don’t think the sun came out once, ugh! As excited as I’ve been for fall, I’m not ready to skip it and go straight to winter!
I don’t know about you, but I struggle to get myself moving on mornings like this, and even when I finally get up, sometimes I still have a hard time being productive. There’s just something about days like this that make me want to crawl back into bed, or curl up on the couch with a good movie, and ignore all adult responsibilities.
Since that’s not really a viable option, I employed one of my top productivity tips—getting dressed. I’ll fully admit that every rainy morning I stood in front of my dresser wearing my robe debating whether to put on real clothes or sweatpants. If you work from home, you probably understand this struggle!
Thankfully my logic got the best of me and I decided to get dressed. During the week, I opt for something casual, cute and simple, and then add accessories to give my outfit more personality. I put on my favorite ripped jeans and then grabbed this top. This top might look familiar to you because I wore it in the wine color in this post—I love how it drapes in the front! Then I added some simple accessories like these bracelets, a simple gold necklace, sunglasses, a simple gold watch, and this mini bag for a pop of color.
My entire look from head to toe is from Nordstrom. It’s one of my favorite places to pick up accessories (and clothes in general, ha!) because of the wide-variety of brands, styles and price points. Actually, every accessory and piece of clothing other than my shoes is under $115! Nordstrom also offers free shipping and returns which is always a huge plus for me when I shop online.
Do you have a hard time getting up on rainy days? What makes you feel more confident and productive?
