Between our pregnancy announcement, the kick off of the health & wellness challenges, the launch of the ‘Be Well’ email series, a new aspect of my business, and big things for BFK, June has been a busy busy month. As excited as I am about each of these things, I’m happy that most of the hard work is behind me and that they’re finally all live! After everything was officially announced & launched, I realized I was extremely worn out, so last week I made slowing down & showing myself some love & care a top priority.
I did my first (and second & third!) Pure Barre class, which was awesome, but so hard! I think it’ll be great for pregnancy because it’s strengthening my abs, arms, legs & booty (you know I love that!) without really heavy weights or deep crunching. I’m happy to be getting back into a more normal workout routine because I really hadn’t done anything other than walk since we moved-oops!
Last Wednesday, I got dressed in normal clothes and Shaheen & Zain came over! It’s been hot lately, so I’ve been living in dresses & sandals. This off the shoulder denim dress is new and I’ve been wearing it frequently! Denim goes with everything, so I’ve been mixing up my shoe & accessory choices for different occasions. I really love that it has a tie waist too so you can show a little curve. Pants are becoming uncomfortable and I’m becoming very thankful that the majority of my pregnancy is happening in the summer months so I can just throw on a dress. That being said, if you have any recommendations for maternity jeans, let me know! I’ve heard these are great, but they’re sold out in my size! The only tough thing about being pregnant this time of year is watching everyone else enjoy rosé while I sip water or mocktails!
It was their first time seeing our place & our First Lady day since Zain’s birth, though I’m not sure we can call them that anymore since he’s now a part of the crew. I made homemade quiche for lunch, caught up, went on a walk & relaxed! It’s tough for me to do this on my own, I get caught up in my to-do list and forget about enjoying the little things. I’m glad they came!
By the end of Wednesday I was feeling more balanced & content. Sometimes, ok, more often than not, I need reminders that life goes so far beyond work, and making time to prioritize my health, happiness and nurture my relationships is so important!
Are you slowing down now that summer is in full swing?
